The Canteen Refectory Dining Table design was inspired by the Mess Hall at Newington Armoury. Looking through the grime covered window of boarded up buildings we saw remaindered tables layered in dust but obvious still was the honest sense of purpose for which these tables had been designed – to feed an army. Sturdy, frugal in the quantities of material used and well proportioned, these are the qualities we have incorporated into our Canteen Table.
Crafted in limed American oak the Canteen table takes on a light contemporary look. In Contrast the dark Vintage Blackbutt shows the silhouette of the design well while the beautiful original patina of the boards adds a further dimension of richness and colour to the table top.
The custom made refectory dining table can be ordered to any length or width however it is best suited to lengths over 2400mm. Additionally extensions can be added to one or both ends which allows an extra two people per extension. The extension is a stored style which means the leaves are put into a padded bag, which we provide, and are stored away from the table.
The limed American oak table to seat eight is priced at $6,350.
