The Original Finish story!

Established in 1989 we began buying and repurposing industrial and vintage antiques for domestic use. We expanded to making furniture to order, primarily specialising in simple classic dining tables with the beautiful timbers we came across in old factories and workshops.

Since pioneering the use of these richly patinated antique timbers to make our tables we have continued to develop new designs and beautiful finishes.

We also now make tables in fine timbers such as American Black Walnut, White Oak, Tasmanian Myrtle and Blackwood.

Specialty veneers are also available like the American black walnut burl, and fiddleback Tasmanian blackwood.

We make quality furniture because we have a thorough understanding of timber, woodcraft and furniture finishing. We pay strict attention to detail throughout all of the processes involved, resulting in beautifully crafted furniture that will endure.
