Tasmanian Myrtle Table and Sidetable

A truly unique custom made dining table and sideboard using Tasmanian Myrtle

We mostly custom make the Fin table in Tasmanian Blackwood or American Black Walnut but this time we were asked for a warmer redder timber and so the customer commissioned a Fin table in Tasmanian Myrtle. Anagote Timbers one of our favourite spots for specialty timbers had just received a supply of Tassie Myrtle so Stephen and the customer spent a Saturday morning going through the pack of timber to select just the right boards for the table. In doing so they also found some exceptionally beautiful highly figured boards and these have been made into a sidetable to match.

We’ve finished it with a water-based low sheen finish and highlighted the grain with a dark wax buffed over the top.
